What is Profhilo and who is it for?
The first of its kind, Profhilo® is a revolutionary ‘beneath the skin’ hyaluronic acid (HA) moisturising treatment. It’s made with the patented NAHYCO® technology. This results in a unique hyaluronic acid injectable gel, which has a prolonged stimulating activity on the dermal cells. When injected into skin, Profhilo stimulates the skin cell receptors to counteract skin laxity, improving and restoring the firmness of the skin. Containing one of the highest concentrations of HA on the market (64 mg / 2 ml), it not only boosts and hydrates the skin, but also remodels ageing and sagging tissue.
The most common areas of treatment include the face and neck, and it can also be used for the décolletage, hands, arms, knees, and abdomen area where it would effectively treat skin laxity. The treatment is suitable for men and women, as well as offering skin benefits for patients of all ages. Patients can achieve excellent results from this treatment on its own; however you can also be combine this with other aesthetics treatments.
How does Profhilo work?
The are being treated is precisely injected with ultra-pure hyaluronic acid. Unlike wrinkle reducing and dermal filler treatments, Profhilo stimulates collagen and elastin. This attracts water in the deeper layers of the skin. As a stabilised product, the activity on dermal cells will last longer than that of a non-stabilised gel. During this time stimulation of four different types of collagen and elastin occurs by the slow release of hyaluronic acid. The stimulation results in significant tissue improvement. Therefore, we cannot say that Profhilo is only a skin booster. It also has a significant tightening / lifting effect on the tissue.

We highly recommend that before booking, you first verify with your insurer that they will indemnify you, based on completion of this course. Currently, our course has been verified by Insync and Cathedral insurance, but each insurer may only offer this on a case by case basis. Some insurers will currently allow their practitioners to complete just the online part of this course, before adding Profhilo to their insurance cover; again, please verify this with your own insurer.
We recommend that you check with an insurer before booking with us just so that you can ensure that you’ll be able to get insurance coverage once qualified so that you aren’t wasting your time and money completing the training.

Profhilo Training Course Eligibility Criteria
Typically, you must have been using dermal filler for at least 6 months before insurers will cover you to offer this treatment.
It’s really the insurance companies who make the rules for eligibility criteria as they offer insurance to practitioners following training. We highly recommend speaking with Cathedral or Insync about insurance requirements before making an enquiry with us.

Often adding Aesthetics to an existing MDU/MPS or dental equivalent policy can prove more expensive than having a stand alone Aesthetic specific policy. There are many companies and options out there; below are two which approve our courses.
